The development of information technology has had a significant impact on the evidentiary system in criminal law enforcement, particularly in corruption cases that are becoming increasingly complex and sophisticated. The use of electronic evidence has emerged as a crucial innovation in uncovering corruption offenses, which are often carried out through digital transactions, online communications, and electronic financial systems. This study aims to analyze the technological developments in the use of electronic evidence and its effectiveness in the evidentiary process of corruption cases. The research employs a normative juridical approach by examining statutory regulations such as Law No. 30 of 2002 concerning the Corruption Eradication Commission and Law No. 31 of 1999 in conjunction with Law No. 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes. The findings indicate that technological advancement has expanded the types and forms of evidence, including digital recordings, emails, electronic banking transaction data, and metadata, which are now legally recognized as valid evidence. However, the main challenges lie in ensuring the authenticity, validity, and integrity of electronic data, which require digital forensic expertise and more adaptive legal frameworks. Therefore, synergy among technological advancement, law enforcement capabilities, and regulatory reform is essential to optimize the use of electronic evidence in combating corruption in the digital era.
